Countdown to the BCC Career Fair and Hiring Event!
March 5, 2025 @ the La Crescent Area Event Center
Local employers broadcast their openings available to youth of all types: part-time, seasonal, weekends, entry-level, etc.
A great event for putting resumes and interview skills into action.
Last year, more than 200 professionals and 1,600 youth engaged in career events through the Bluff Country Collaborative.
Experience As A Teacher
Some say experience is the best teacher. Maybe true; maybe not. In the BCC, we aim to give youth real-world, hands-on, meaningful experience. The Bluff Country Collaborative Leadership Team identified a priority for 2024-25 is to increase student experience in the workplace with local employers and organizations. We need your help to make this a reality and have a renewed emphasis on workplace experience.
- Job Shadow
- Paid work experience for a semester*
- Paid internship*
- Entry level job*
- Volunteer and service hours
What is your job? What does your company do? How do you manage that many projects? Where do I start? What is your favorite part of the job? Does your company pay for more training? Can I ask that in an interview? What is the culture like? How does your company get their supplies? Do you actually use math in the real world? How far does your company travel? What jobs can teenagers have at your business? What can I do in High School to be ready for a job in your career? Will you show me how to do that?
2024-25 will be a year of bringing together professionals and youth for deeper learning, experience, growth of workplace readiness.
